Terms and Conditions

Last updated September 15, 2026

These terms apply to private lifeguarding and private swim lessons with Louis Fasano (“Louis the Lifeguard,” “I,” “me”), whether you book on this website, by phone, by text, or by email. By booking, you (the client) agree to them.

The short version

1. Rates

2. Travel fee

I'm based in Commack. Locations more than a 15-minute drive from Commack are subject to a travel fee based on the drive time.

I'll confirm your travel fee, if any, by text before your booking is locked in. Drive times are measured with online maps, and the address you enter when booking is sent to mapping services only to calculate the drive.

3. Deposit & payment

4. If you need to cancel or reschedule

5. If I need to cancel

I may cancel or reschedule a booking up to 6 hours before the start time, for example because of weather, illness, an emergency, or a scheduling conflict. Inside 6 hours, I'll only cancel for a genuine emergency or unsafe conditions.

If I cancel, you get a full refund of your deposit, or you can move it to a new date. Whenever possible, I'll first try to send another certified lifeguard from my team so your event can still go ahead.

6. Weather

7. Safety

8. Group size

One lifeguard can supervise up to 25 swimmers. If more than 25 people will be swimming, a second lifeguard is required, billed at the same hourly rate. Please share your expected headcount when you book. If more people show up to swim than planned, I may limit how many are in the water at once.

9. Who shows up

Your booking may be covered by another American Red Cross–certified lifeguard from my team. I'll tell you who's coming before your event.

10. Swim lessons

11. Texts & communication

By booking, you agree to receive texts about your booking (confirmations, deposit requests, reminders, and updates) from (631) 817-4964. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.

12. Photos

I never take or share photos or videos of your family, guests, or property without your permission.

13. Responsibility

I'm an independent, American Red Cross–certified lifeguard and swim instructor. My job is to supervise swimmers and respond to emergencies, and I take that seriously, but no one can guarantee that an accident will never happen. I'm responsible for my own conduct. I'm not responsible for the condition of your pool, equipment, or property, or for the actions of your guests.

14. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. The version posted when you book applies to your booking.
